Alright so I have an iphone 4 8gb which i know means to get the GSM Rev A version for everything. I got the 6.1.3 restore shift clicked restore iphone and used it on itunes to and set as new iphone to set my phone to factory settings. Then i found and got the file for the IOS 7 for my phone but when i shift click check for update and click it i get an error message? saying "The iPhone could not be updated because the firmware is not compatible. I got the IOS 7 off that mega site every one links you too and obviously still nothing. can anyone please give me advice how to make it work?

Are you with verizon? Or AT&T? Or what? Try using the CDMA instead of gsm

What is the file extension? .ipsw? .dmg? .zip?
