title says it all black screen when I turn on my jtag only boots into xell

you would need the right .elf file because there are lots of them that do different things
and to fix your problem we need more detail then that

Just put my nand and the xenon.elf on my external hard drive and it said mass storage failure

Rename to updflash.bin, you shouldnt need xenon.elf to use Rawflash.
