So im using a xfinity model, model in the subject.. this modem sucks! it always disconnects from the internet like at least 3x a day, sometimes more, and when it disconnects it atleast for about 20 minutes then connects back to the internet.. when i unplug it, then plug it back in it will take 20 minutes to connect back.. the wifi is terrible, it doesn't connect everywhere in the house, and i have a 2 story house.. is there ANYTHING i can do, or does ANYONE no why this modem does this? other than buying a new modem

i did a bit of research on the device and it seems as if it has a software defect in some of its models. You may be one of the unlucky ones who revived a dud. But there is good news, you can easily upgrade the firmware with an update or you can send it back to them for a refund OR a new working router.
