is it some sort of glitch where you rank because mostly when I have checked someones channel he downs him self does that give him the shotgun rank

It's not always actually about k/d! I got shotguns just 2 days ago with a 167 k/d.

And I got it after suicide on Buried round 63. (NO GLITCHES)
