For gta v do you need a hard drive as i only have 4gb slim and two 32gb usb stick could i still use them?

You should still be able to use the USB stick but it Will use probaly a little more then normal games but not more Then 8GB

pretty sure the game is 18gb thats why its shipped with more than one disc, and requires you to install to some sort of memory device, only what ive seen

You'll need hard drive.
You can't use USB as it's just a storage device and it doesn't comput with the xbox in the way the hard drive does.
