I had my iphone plugged in and charging. i started recording a video but the video wouldnt stop recording when i tried to end it. my phone then froze, when to the home screen for a split second and went into recovery mode. i cant do anything now in terms of recovery fix on redsn0w, udpdating with itunes ETC. can someone help?

delete some stuff off your jailbreak that makes it respring and after a couple of things it should respring it self back into your jailbreak. thats how i fixed mine

Download the latest version of tinyumbrella and you should be able to kick it out of recovery mode.

Then use redsn0ws "just boot" feature to get the jailbreak to work if it is a tethered jailbreak.

hold down power and home for 10 seconds, let go and it should show the apple logo and youll be out of recovery mode, no need to download anything

Put your iPhone into DFU Mode and restore.

Yes if you are jailbroken you would lose jailbreak but DFU mode and restoring always gets your iPhone back working like new
