These are two builds I have made up, I would like feedback on which one would act/perform better for games. Ex. Call of Dutys, Battlefields and other large rpg games. Thanks.
Here are the two:

the second one is by far better and i would definately go with that one. although, change the cpu cooler. the one you picked out is basically the same one that comes with the cpu for free. if u plan on overclocking ur cpu, get a nicer one such as the one on ur first link. if you're not going to overclock ur cpu, i wouldn't even get an extra cpu fan

They're not outdated, but their motherboards are. If you're buying Intel right now, it should be Haswell under most circumstances.

OP, the FX 6300 is a better choice than the i3, neither of these builds need Z77 chipset boards or aftermarket cooling, and if you do go with a locked i5, it should be a 4570 with a cheap B85 or H87 board. The RAM for the first build is 1.65v, which is out of spec for 1155/1150 CPUs and you should get a 1.5v or lower kit. There's also no point in paying more for an ITX board if you're not going to use an ITX case.

I'd recommend that. The 660TI is 10%-15%(source: google) faster then the 7870(+cheaper).
AMD A8-6600K 3.9GHz Quad-Core Processor is better(in most cases, including gaming) than the i3 dual core(only 7$ more).[ [ Register or Signin to view external links. ] ]
I did lower down the SSD to 64GB, moved the Motherboard to a AMD-Friendly one.

The 660 Ti is neither faster (they're even give or take a few frames depending on the game) nor cheaper.

There's no point in going with an APU if you won't use the integrated graphics and the i3 is faster in most tasks anyway. Still, an FX 6300 is a better buy than both at the price point and AM3+ is a better socket to have.
