M249 wroteThat is the very board i am using now, great overclocking board for the price.snitzel09 wrote I was also looking for a new mobo so it would be hella tight if i could get some suggestions on that too
As i said in my last post, the M5A97 EVO R2.0 would be good paired up with the 8320.

M249 wrotesnitzel09 wroteM249 wrote I have a FX6300 and i have to say it's a great CPU. For the price you get 6 cores with 3.5GHz clock speed. Really great CPU for such little money. If you're upgrading from an i3 i'd get a 8320 though.
The 8320 is an 8 core CPU with a 3.5GHz clock speed also. It has a TDP of 125w though, so make sure your PSU is up to the job.
AMD CPUs usually are good overclockers. Getting a 8320 with a M5A97 EVO R2.0 motherboard would be a great investment.
Everything I have is spectacular except my cpu, and i have a spare water cooler so i can overclock well
The 8320 would be a very good upgrade for you then. It will provide masses of performance. It isn't too expensive either.
Remember, when you change your motherboard you will need to get a new OS.

If you have a socket 1155 i3, you probably don't need to upgrade. They're great CPUs and depending on the tasks you'll be using your computer for, you're probably better-off upgrading something else.

If you're just getting into it, you can accomplish everything you need with a very old and slow CPU. You're not going to be compiling hundreds of thousands of lines of code any time soon. The i3 is much, much more than adequate.

Vishera wrote I also know Buxtyy had his 8120 at avery stable 4.4GHz.
I do currently have my FX8120 stable at 4.4Ghz on a CLC, however it could do 4.3Ghz easily on a Hyper 212 but thats probably silicon lottery. The 63XX & 83XX series processors perform better than mine so even with overclocking they'll perform well for the price.
