Ok as it says in the title what I am about to tell you is probably going to be one of my biggest decisions I have ever made.
Ok so lets start of,
When I was around the age of 12 I had the dream of going into the Army & my grandma and dad was really supportive of it and said if I want to do that I could.
Anyway when I hit year 8 (Age 12/13) I started the Army Cadets & I did that for 3 1/2 years and was a corporal with my duke of Edinburgh etc...
Cadets was my life, I did everything for cadets and it was something I really loved to do.
I used to get a ton of grieve of people though saying it was 'brownies' which really ticked me off and the worse thing what made me flip was when someone said "you have 'guns' what don't even shoot"
But what people don't understand is there is two types of riles, DP & GP
Drill Purpose - You would use this type of rifle for rifle drill, ceremony's etc...
General Purpose - This rifle actually fires bullets compared to the DP because the DP barrel is blocked so it can't fire.
But anyway to carry on the story,
about 2 months ago I stopped going to cadets because I was getting so stressed with it because of I used to get all the bollockings because my cadets used to mess about.
But I still love it to bits because its a big part in my life.

But now I am facing probably one of the biggest decisions ever.
I really want to join the Arm forces (Infantry) but my mum really doesn't want me join (you know what mums are like)
So I really need your opinions on what you think I should do.
Thanks Jack.

I think its up to you if you really want to do it then do it and try talking to your mom and get her to understand you really want to do this... but if you dont wanna do it then dont do it, if you donr want to cuz of how ur mom feels then dont do it until u talk to her about it and she understands..
But yeah its up to you if you want or not..

Well, when it comes down to it, it's your life. If you really want to do this, and you have your mind set on doing this, go for it. Just be aware of the risks involved with your type of job, and really try to get your parents to support you if you seriously want to do this for a living.

If you want to join the army, do it. But make sure you're adamant that's what you want to do.
Also, look into it. I doubt it's anything like army cadets.

Well in my honest opinion I don't think you should join. Since you're asking us that tells me that you have doubts and if you have doubts, that's not the career for you.

I personally am going to join the marines after I graduate high school. So I am supportive of what you are doing and I think if you wan't to join, then join. It won't be best asking a game forum for oppinions then they all say no and then you don't join. If I were you and you wanted to join, then join.

Do what you want to do. Its your life, not your moms. Live it.

Don't join, the army doesn't need anyone else, they are for the most part doing nothing to help society, don't contribute.

If it was me, personally, I wouldn't do it. Not to be crude, but if you end up getting your whole body obliterated in an incident with an IED in Syria, how's your mum going to feel when they don't even have a body to bury? That's how I would think of it anyway.
