First off please don't turn this into a religious debate, If you think god isn't real, that's nice.
If you think he is, that's nice.

Just try to sit on the fence here and imagine there is a possibility of him being and him not being real, just for the purpose of this topic.

Say i die today, and god isn't real and i just rot in the ground, what was the point to my life?

What is the point to life if there is no god?
What is the point in living if where all going to die?

There will be the "Smith" family they will get together every sunday for a meal they will live there lives grow old and die, Then there will be the next generation of the smith family who will go to work do this and that, grow old have kids and then die.. and just rot in the ground!? and the cycle continues?

WHAT IS THE FXXNG POINT!?
What is the point in doing anything if you are just going to die!?
You can be a multi-billionaire and own 20 islands, when you are dead you have nothing!

For example,

kids who die at birth, people with no limbs, people who where born deaf and blind etc

Isn't it so unfair that if there is no "God" then they do not get to experience properly/at all. What was the point? That is so unfair.

What is the point in life?

Some may say "To Live"
Why? Live and do what?

"To succeed."

success

Noun:
The accomplishment of an aim or purpose.

What is the purpose or the aim?...

To be rich?

"Money" Has NO value. It is just paper.

It has no intrinsic value. The paper means nothing. The guarantee of goods or services give it value.

The fact that we believe it has value, gives it value.

If you want to go that deep, a solid diamond has no value if there is no afterlife.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Stop,
Think about that statement.

Sorry if i wasn't clear enough with what i was trying to say feel free to ask if you do not understand me

EDIT:

Sorry i dont think i made the last statement clear enough, i ment.

You could be a billionaire, with thousands of diamonds and jewels.
BUT YOU ARE GOING TO DIE ONE DAY
AND WHEN YOU DIE YOU WILL LOSE IT ALL!

So what is the point in even aquiring these goods if you're just going to lose them.

If you are a billionaire before you die you donate lots of money to charity, some people that are about to die that are billionaires will make the world/country better before he dies, so anyone else can live a good life.

The point of life is to live, that's all you can do right?

The purpose is to be happy. That's the goal in life, be happy. Homeless people can be happy, Im not talking happy with what you have, happy with yourself. Not your accomplishments in life, not with who you are as a person, just that this is possible. Be happy that for some reason wether god gave you 5 fingers or you grew 5 fingers that its possible.

That's the purpose of life; to be happy with what you are.

There is no point.
Life isn't fair.
That's the brilliance of reality.
Reality is a behemoth that has walked hand in hand with time since existence began.
It's difficult to accept but completely unproductive to ignore that reality doesn't operate on a basis of convenience, it pays no mind to what we would like it to be or what we think it should be, it has no interest in changing itself based on what you consider to be fair or unfair.
You're a part of reality and life, reality and life are not parts of you.

If you want to take the less pessimistic view, the meaning of life is to give life meaning.

There is no actual point to life but you can make a point.

I see it as a sandbox game, you can do anything you'd like to do and follow your own path.

In the end though you're life had no great impact in the universe, we are a mere smudge in the vast cosmos.

You see that is one problem with human life, and a question I myself have asked time and time again.

You see we have developed a level of consciousness that has led to us to ask, why? What's the point? Animals don't think this, as, by majority, their level of consciousness does not reach much further than surviving and reproducing.

But our intelligence has "gifted" us with the ability to question our existence, so what is the point?

There isn't one. Sure you could say that the point is to reproduce, and ensure the longevity of our species, but is it? Nowadays we have developed false values and self-worth, that people inspire to achieve. I.e, becoming a millionaire. But that is not the meaning in life, as I said, this is a false hope, a child's prayer.

Life is simply not fair, something some of us experience first hand time and time again. So, after years of watching life create misery and pain, I came with a simple conclusion to the meaning of life.

It is simply to be happy. I know this is the most basic sentimentality, but it seems to me, that if you can live a happy life, you have lived your life well.

I made a post similar to this, but going into much more detail about how eventually everything will come back to nothing. Although I do agree that in the grand scheme, we mean nothing, I just gave up on thinking about it. It isn't relevant at this point in time and it's a waste thinking about it.

I have always wondered what is the point in life myself, why be born just to eventually die never have understood it. But I prefer nowadays to spend less time thinking about "the meaning of life" and more time enjoying the 1 I do have. Maybe one day the meaning of life will be revealed but I highly doubt it.
