The budget to make this decades standout game Grand Theft Auto V has been reported to total a whopping $265 million (170 million). To put that into perspective, the only movie to have spent more is Pirates of the Caribbean: At Worlds End at $300 million.

Its testament to the huge rise of video game culture that a title such as this can justify such a hefty budget. It is anticipated that GTA V will shift 25 million copies in the first year alone, raking in $1 billion. Not a bad return.

The interest in the game, coupled with tons of pre-orders, has resulted in Take-Two Interactives (the parent company of Rockstar who makes the game) share price doubling in the past year.

Early insights into the game have shown us that, for the first time, players will control three main characters throughout the campaign. Youll also be able to upgrade and customise vehicles, as well as take the action online.


That is one sick amount of money to be spent on a game, it should be amazing though and I'm definitely looking forward to it if that much time and money has been put into it!

I don't think its going to be as good as every one make out.
Yes it's going to be fun for the first month the people are going to complain just like they did with cod

Edit: just my opinion I think most people are over hyping the game just the same as any other game people expect things and then are not happy with the end result

They made the right choice investing heavily into it. They're going to make so much money back.

GTA V will not even compare to the copied COD series.

That's why i have GTA V on pre order and not Ghosts.

No please don't even mention COD in a GTA V post COD does get boring, but GTA doesn't. I still play GTA 4 today just not as much because i;m sick of getting my xbox froze.

That's a big amount on here what I'm seeing. I hope it is good. No modders to wreck the game as they do.
