got an iphone and want to free up some space for the release of iOS 7 tomorrow. half of my space is taken up by "other" according to iTunes and want to know how to clear some. can i get some legit answers other than the generic "restore your phone" or "use an pc based app to clean it out" i've done both with little success.

+rep to anything that works, thanks.

Delete shit, duh.
Delete pictures, music you don't listen to, any games you have. Delete jailbroken apps, etc. too.

I don't know what you have on you phone. Delete stuff that doesn't classify as that.
And I said delete jailbroken data.

If you don't delete messages regularly then delete them. I deleted my messages a few days ago (I hardly ever delete any messages) and I freed up over 6GB of free space.

Are you jailbroken? I think Cydia stuff falls under 'Other'. When updating to iOS 7 it will remove the jailbreak data.

Use the app called iClean. It cleans up user cache, thumbnails from safari and chrome, and other misc. items.
