I believe we should.
It's just the idiots that are stupid enough to take advantage of it that shouldn't have the right.
That's just my opinion on it though.

2.You said "who do we call......Good guys with guns". You miss the point that a society without guns would not require "good guys with guns" to stop "Bad guys with guns" as guns become more difficult to find, for your average criminal.

4. My analogy makes perfect sense as I am giving you an example of using an old and ultimately out of date view that people follow with your constitution stupid.

The fact you believe that people should be able to obtain guns with the ease that the US allows is plain stupidity. No society will be free of crime but you can aid the suppression of it by removing the likes of guns.

1. What's the point of getting rid of guns if not to lower the crime rate? They can be used for recreation, sport, and hunting as well. I didn't say it would stop crime, but all you've said you're in favor of so far is making it impossible for law-abiding citizens to obtain guns. How anyone could think legal gun ownership is a bad thing is beyond me.

2. You're missing the point. Guns are used to stop crime, even in places like the UK that don't allow gun ownership. You can't expect the hundreds of millions of registered guns in the US to simply disappear. Banning them would make them no more difficult to obtain.

4. The 2nd amendment is not out of date. The goal is to give citizens the power to overthrow the government. This has served us well and will continue to do so.

2. At most our police are armed with a taser(although very rare). The only forces with firearms really are the airport security. If you can honestly tell me that you would feel more safe standing between a criminal with a handgun and a police officer with a handgun than a criminal with a knife and a police officer armed with just a baton then there is something wrong because I can tell you which situation I would rather be in.

3. I don't have a gun and I can protect myself. I know that if somebody broke into my house that he won't have a gun and will at most have a melee weapon which in my house I obviously will have plenty of things that I can grab and use against the criminal.

4. Hate to tell you but it is out of date as times change and I can assure you has since that was written.

5. Compare your crime rates with other countries who don't have guns and I can guarantee you that theirs is better.

You also said that you can't expect all guns that are registered to disappear. Well if they are indeed registered then a nation wide operation of going from premise to premise and obtaining these guns isn't unrealistic. It would take time but nobody said it wouldn't. The real challenge is obtaining the unregistered fire arms which lets face it would have it's benefits as progress is made.

You are wrong about knives. You should definitely not feel safer because of a knife, rather that a rifle.

Numbers show that much more people were killed in 2011 with a knife than a rifle.

Yes we have the right to protect our self's . First the will take our guns then they will take our freedom .

Of course we do.
If we lost our guns, we wouldn't have any way to defend ourselves.
And no, a criminal who wants a gun, is going to get a gun. A law banning them won't stop someone who's going to break it anyway.

Yeah, since it would suck having thousands of more people crowding the jails/prisons because they didn't want to give up their weapons..

if we stop normal people from having guns that's gonna make the value of guns go up and then all of the cartels that sell guns now will work on getting even more guns to America and selling even more guns because it will add a fake inflation for every gun they sell thus making them more money in turn giving them more power and giving more guns to the bad people and less guns to people who want to own them for the right reason for protection and hunting for food not for sport so banning all guns would be a stupid idea and wouldn't help it would just make America a sitting duck because everyone hates America H*ll im an American and I hate America in a way so when they take guns away from America that will be when America turns into a communist country and the government can truly control each and every one of us and we wont be able to do SH*T about it

I don't even think this is a legitimate question. Of course we should have the right to bare arms. Before you go crazy on my opinion.. just read.

One of the main things this country runs on.. is the bill of rights. The Bill of Rights clearly states "the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed."

Obviously, the only people that should not be allowed to use guns are criminals. Even though they are considered people, and still have rights.

The problem is, the Government is trying to take away one of our main rights, and as it clearly states "shall not be infringed." Even if they were to take the right away, what stops criminals from getting guns anyways? If they're doing something illegal, what do they care about laws about gun control? Zip, nada, nothing.

So yes, we should have the right to bear arms. Not just for self defense, but because it's our right.

i say yes because im not going to be robbed or jumped and sit there say wow i wish i was able to defend myself i feel they should make it harder to obtain a gun but guns dont kill people people kill people
