I updated to iOS 7 on my iphone 5 and noticed the apps are just completely ugly, they look like something you would see out of a 5 year olds coloring book, is there any way I can change the style of my app icons without jail breaking.

No, there isn't. You are stuck with the appearance with the icons until you are able to jailbreak on iOS 7
