when will the oculus rift come out? or should i just get the dev kit oculus rift

If you don't know how to program and code, the dev kit will be useless to you.

You really should wait for the consumer model to come out.

The Dev kit can play maybe 2 games that are supported.

Right now Skyrim, Minecraft, and Team Fortress 2 are the only supported and even then I don't think those games are fully optimized for the Oculus Rift.
