I have not upgraded my pc in years. It is a custom build that my Dad built out of parts he replaced in his pc probably 5 years ago.
Right now I'm running
2x AMD Athlon 64 x2 Dual Core Processor 6000+ 3.10ghz
4 gb of ram
with a NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GTS

It's still getting the job done, but barely and i really dont think it will push BF4

my goal so far is too get a
AMD FX-8350 Vishera 4.0GHz (4.2GHz Turbo) Socket AM3+ 125W Eight-Core Desktop Processor
ASRock 970 Extreme3 R2.0 AM3+ AMD 970 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX AMD Motherboard
put 8 gb of ram
and not sure what video card i want to get yet.

I want to be able to push Battlefield 4 decently on the highest settings. What are your thoughts?

This build would do the job;

FX 8320
Asus M5A99FX PRO R2.0
8GB of decent RAM. 1600MHz+
Radeon 7870 would be fine. A 7950 would be better though.

I'd like to keep it around 500 or 600 tops.

Personally I'd switch out the 7950 you chose with this:

XFX Ghost 7950 is beautiful.
FX-8320 is a good CPU.
I would switch out the power supply as I've heard mixed reviews about SeaSonic

Motherboard is good, RAM is decent.

So you would swith a Seasonic PSU for a Corsair lool. I'm sorry but that is just funny. Seasonic are probably the best at Making PSU's, if any one can afford a Seasonic, i would always recommend them. But i would never recommend any Corsair PSu, Unless it's the CX430M. Major derp moment lol.

Also, why switch to the same GPU but with a worse cooler? That costs more. No logic.

It's funny because the TX650 V2 is made by Seasonic.
