so ive heard this before and i thought i would share this with you guys, so one of my friends had an older ipod, and when a new ios came out it "destroyed" her device it made it ALOT slower! battery died faster! so do you think apple does this on older devices so you Update your device and buy their product? might not be true, but iOS 7 (for me) has made my battery die alot faster! :3 Just curios what you guys think!

It's because the new ios' are more complex and use more memory and energy to run. The more advanced the software is, the more advanced the hardware must be. She shouldn't have of updated.

Maybe because iOS 7 needs more power to run?

I'm sure Apple doesn't make it their goal to ruin your* old devices, but they don't go out of their way to stop it. Why would they? Your device will still work with some flaws, but it will make you want to go out and get the newer product instead of keeping the old one. Thus they make more money. You'd be lying if you said you wouldn't do the same if you could

The older devices don't have good enough hardware for the most recent updates. Thats why they stopping updating older devices, my first gen ipad is still running on ios 5.

IOS 7 needs a lot of power to run and the old iPod isn't meant for it

You know what.. I think I have experienced this in a sense.
I have an iPhone 4S and when IOS6 came out I didn't update it immediately I waited a few weeks. I didn't even want to update but my phone started running so slowly I thought it had to be done.
Very interesting.

Apple is a greedy company. That's why I don't buy their terrible products. Like really the iPhone 5c? Might as well get the iPhone 5 since its $100 cheaper than the 5s. People are so fed with the iPhone hype. I feel bad for the people that bought the 5c, whilst the 5 being the same price.
