hTDrag wroteim not sure if your using that as a example , but in my country murder is a life sentence and in my country a life sentence is only 25 years .I think it depends on the crime committed.
Say you kidnap someone, you get 50 years in prison.
Say you kill someone, you get 100 years in prison.
That's 150 years, do this to multiple people it adds up.
Not to mention theft and other crimes.
I am not 100% sure this is true but this did happen to my friends dad.
He robbed a store then shot and killed 9 people.
He was sentenced life in prison along with a couple of centuries but soon after a month he committed suicide.

They're talking about sentences in America.
There is a specific number for each crime that can be committed. If you're going to kill multiple people and basically go on a rampage after robbing a bank. During the process, you kill a few cops and a few innocent people, you're either going to get the time added up, which will be over a lifetime, or you're going to get 1000+ years. This ensure that the criminal never gets released from prison, as others have already stated.
