Best-selling US author Tom Clancy, who wrote thrillers including Patriot Games, has reportedly died in hospital at the age of 66.

Of course any death is tragic and sad.
Unfortunately thousands do go unnoticed, which is a shame, but my point is, we can't find it sad if we don't know of the death..

I grew up reading his books and always enjoyed them. I thought his research and attention to detail set him apart from his peers. I enjoy his earlier books more, but have made it a point to read every one that he wrote.
