Planning to run two Matrix 7970 Platinums heavily overclocked, and an 8-core Haswell Xeon (1230 V3).

Also, is there any Crossfire/SLI config this PSU couldn't manage (excluding 2 dual GPU cards)?

Should be good. Why not wait for the new cards if you're going to spend so much?

The 7970 is the most power-hungry current-generation single-GPU card, so if a power supply can handle them, it should be fine with anything else.

I probably will wait for the new cards, but even then there's a high chance I'll get these 7970s. They are lightning fast, overclock like crazy and I've seen them around 240 pounds, which is just ridiculous pricing. Depends on how well the new cards perform, I plan on getting a R290X if I can, and then maybe in a few months after Christmas Crossfire that.
