Do we really need ratings for games?(R,E.T ect) That rating basically does not change anything. How many kids younger than 17 do we see everyday on Cod Battlefield Gta?We all have are opinions but do we really need a rating tag I don't think we do.

I think we do as more and more kids now adays adapt to what they see in games and films and take it into real life. I think they should be a lot stricter on the sales but then again I guess there adult will just pop into store and buy one for them

It helps the parent the most by telling them what is in the game and then they can decide if it's appropriate for their child.

I think they still serve a purpose, just as movie ratings do. They are for the shopkeepers/store clerks and the buyer. If the kid is underage, it is the guardian's choice whether or not it is ok for the kid to play. I would hate to be a parent knowing I had no control over my kid getting a game they shouldn't have access to.

Think of the uproar there would be with a bunch of parents if they just got rid of ratings lol

This, while barely any of the idiot parents listen, it probably saves us a few hundred more annoying little brats. It's really only there to make it a little bit harder for kids to get a hold of M rated games but in the end it obviously makes little difference, it just makes the government feel slightly better about allowing these games to be sold when they feature graphic violence, harsh language, nudity etc.

The ratings helped my parents decide what I could play and watch as a child. Even though a lot ignore age ratings now, I bet there's still a lot who use them and there would be uproar if they were to be removed.

I made a topic about this a while ago, and now I understand it.

It's just there was. Guideline for strict parents.

Most parents couldn't care less.

But it's not like you have to be for example exactly 18 or over to play and 18 rated game
