What's worked best for me is, sniping the guys near the first jet and the ones that come in the truck, getting in the jeep, drive around throwing explosives at the jets and blowing them up and finally getting to the chopper.

If you have a helicopter at the beginning, you can touch the jets with the helicopter and they just blow up.
