im thinking about joining the amry but have a few questions and was wondering if anyone has been in the army or knows someone who has can help me

    a little about myself
    im 19 in november
    im not very big
i am fit but i do smoke

1st-i want to join but i dont know what im thinking of being an infantry soldier or vegicle mechanic could anyone give me advise or if the is something else i should look at.

2nd-how long is the minimum years you can stay because i was thinking of signing up for the minimum years and then if i like i sign up longer.

3rd-im worried that if i do go i will loose contact with my family and friend i want to go but i want to be able to keep in contact with them .

4th-money, is it a well paid job because i dont really want to risk my life for the same amount as i could get working, i know you cant spend it on much while your away, was just wondering how much do you get a month from it.

5th- hw long after you have been in to the army careers office do you start the training and how long does that take to do, i know it will be hard but im ready for the challenge.

im going to give the army careers office up on monday as they are closed at weekend and go see them.

if anyone has any advise then please let me know that would be great.

thank you for your time and if you could help with anything that would be great.

boot camp is 2 months for army.. pay is like 1200 or 1000 every two weeks. training for your mos is right away after boot camp. youll be away a long time.. minimum contract now is 4 years. and infantry isnt the best choice if you wanna do something once youre out the force.. think wisely man. think reallyy hard cause its your life

First off, the Arm is a very intimidating elite military branch

And with the Army, it truly depends on what job you get and if it applies to the civilian world.
