Simply, don't tamper with anything, leave it all alone, and wait for Rockstar to give an announcement. If your too eager to get online, then just start a new character, your probably below Lvl 30 anyways. Those of you 30+ just wait it out.

I think people over 50+ should wait it out. I got my friend to a level 51 in one night from a 4 by just grinding it out on a mission since his character got deleted and now mine did too.

The title is REALLY misleading.
Makes me think you have a way of fixing it.
Luckily mine didn't get reset, but it's good advice.
Waiting it out is the best thing to do.

what happens if u made a character on slot 1 and it got deleted but after it happened you made a character on slot 2
