You can't on some games, only if it is compatible.

Plus there is input lag on most games with a Gamepad.

You don't stand a chance on multiplayer with a gamepad with the about half a second input lag.

I'd go for PC if I were you. I used to play on Xbox a lot but then I moved to PC gaming and it's the best thing I've ever done gaming wise. Seriously you'll get a lot more enjoyment out of PC gaming. The community tends to be more mature as well, unless you're on DayZ where it's practically run by 12 year olds.

Using a keyboard and mouse is fun when you learn to use them. I picked it up quite fast and there's really nothing to it. If you type without looking at the keyboard you'll have no problems at all. If you do look at the keyboard all the time you might have some problems picking it up, but once you do it'll be cool.

Using a controller on a PC puts you a a disadvantage. People using keyboard and mouse have better control over the game and can do things a lot quicker by just hitting for example a number for something whereas you'd have to hit the dpad to select it, if you get where I'm coming from.

It all comes down to budget though, and whether or not you're willing to build one. If you're going to build one with a $400 budget then you'll be absolutely fine, I and a few others can recommend you some good builds. If you plan on buying a prebuilt with $400 go for a console.

I'd say get the PC if you have the money to put out. There's different possibilities with the PC. The console is really just for gaming experience. Plus there's many different things you can do with games on the PC. If your going for exclusive games I guess go with the console but I don't think your a die hard fan for exclusives?
