The new design is a lot better, but whatever you did to the 'New Logo' as for effects just does not look good. Try a more professional way of displaying logos.

I agree with what Zef said. Your logo skills and creativity is pretty decent but your distribution and distribution effects could use some work...

Design wise they're all alright "logos", that show you're descent with the pen tool, though there are some rough corner points in the original logo. I must say I like the original better, because it can be played with in video effects, and such a lot more.
On the basis of real logo design/concept, I think these are quite bad. They don't communicate to your audience at all, and really let them know what it is you do. If I was to see the logo and didn't know you were a "graphic designer," I would guess, "maybe he's a colt's fan", "maybe a horse brander," or anything... A logo should communicate to your set audience. A simple emblem based logo doesn't usually work well unless you have a brand that is well established, or will be seen in many places by many people.

The new logo looks better, BUT only the clean black version in the comparison image.
The picture with just the new logo, looks pretty bad.
I would keep all the effects off it, and keep it simple and clean.
