So, today my family switched phone carriers, and kept the same number I had. But, nobody in my family can use iMessage or FaceTime. It says "Waiting for activation..." on both. If anybody knows a fix for this please post it

Additional Info--
iPhone 5s
iOS 7.0.2
Previous Carrier-- AT&T
New Carrier-- Appalachian Wireless (Verizon)

Either contact apple or contact AT&T or Verizon

My friend had the same problem when updating on his phone and it would only send a text from his number and then it would only send a iMessage from his email.

Also you can check to make sure everything is "checked" in the iMessage settings
Settings>Messages>Send & Receieve and then make sure that your cell phone number is listed. This will make sure that you will receive iMessages to your phone number

My iMessage has my number, but it's greyed out. I also contacted Verizon, they said that it's all Apple's deal, and to give it 24 hours to activate.

Then I suggest you wait the 24-hours until everything's set up, and if you and your family still can't access or use any features such as iMessage, then contact Apple.

It has been over 24 hours and still hasn't activated, should I contact Apple?

Yes contact Apple, like I said above, my friend had a similar problem and Apple resolved it for him in a mater of minutes.
