Okay so i'm sure quite a few of you people have seen the
-Oculus Rift VR
-Araig Suit VR
-Virtuix Omni VR
VR-virtual reality
Anyone else think combining all of these would take virtual reality gaming a bit too far. I mean psycho paths have killed people over games, there was some kid who thought his mom would respawn so he killed her, or his dad can't remember. But anyway if virtual reality comes too far wouldn't that be a bad thing?
For those of you who don't know what the rift, araig, or omni are
oculus rift-glasses like those yellow helmets in the arcades, they cover your field of view so it makes a sense of you being in the game, it also tilts the image slightly to provide a sense of depth in the image.
araig-is a suit that triggers muscle response by contracting and constricting on the body to provide a sense of you actually being in the game, getting hit by that bullet or car, probably not as painful as those would be though.
omni-is a circular platform with a ring that keeps you from going over but it has a slippery ish standing platform and special soles on the shoes to allow you to run on it and control your avatar in the game.
Is it just me or is this stuff a bit too far?

Not at all. Virtual reality gaming that actually runs smoothly with decent graphics is probably everyone's dream. I can't wait until the technology advances even more. The people that do stuff over video games are either completely stupid or have a mental illness and neither of those if the video games fault.

I feel like these are just gimmicky devices that won't really catch on. Like the 3D on the 3DS, nobody really needs that, Nintendo realized that hence the "2DS." These are just gimmicks for people that have too much money to handle.

It really depends on the person that plays that console or machine. It is not meant for everyone, and if the people don't like it. They can simply not buy it.

Honestly if there becomes a Virtual Reality in the future that ANYONE can play in it could be bad or good for humanity. For example, someone who has never committed a crime, has done everything right in their life could have the chance to see what doing bad things is like. Now this could make them dislike crimes and keep them on track, or it could make them get acquainted with being bad all of the time.

Reasons why it could be good:
1. Gives people opportunities they failed to take in their life
2. Could let them follow their dream goals much faster and see what they are like
3. Gives people the chance to do absolutely anything they please

Reasons why it could be bad:
1. It could corrupt peoples focus and mindsets
2. It could change people for the worse
Basically it could change your whole personality.

hence the point, a bit too far? I mean if a game really changes your whole personality that much should it really be played. After all it is just a game right? it's not intended to be made into reality...

I think they should push this technology as far as they can, it is just amazing. Maybe continue it on past gaming and look for other uses for it.

If any of you have seen the movie 'Surrogates', that's what I think it will turn in to.

Get to the point where we can control a whole other body in the same world with our minds.

I'm sure when video games started to come out that had killing other people in them people thought the same thing.
