It saves automatically online.
You don't have to manually save the game.

yes i know but recently with the new update it hasnt been saving

are you 100% sure it will work?

well i save it by bringing up the charcther wheel and change to one them and it says progress will be auto saved but make sure to read it cos if the cloud servers are down just sit on the game till it says saved then change charcther

Im pretty sure if not they need to fix this issue

That's what R* tells people, even when the character deletion was really bad and they were telling everybody to do that, it still deleted people's characters. I did this every time, a couple of my characters got deleted plus my garage. In this particular case however R* made a topic on their support forums saying that money and rp are saved but delayed. [ Register or Signin to view external links. ] <--- So there really isn't anything you can do about it right now but to wait for them to fix it. Leaving GTA online is suppose to save the stats if you have to get off that second. Automatically may be a min or two from the stats you were at, if one way doesn't save there's a good chance the other won't. It's all dependent on the cloud.

thanks alot for the detailed reply, I will just leave gta online and not go back on it untill my rank updates on their site
