it wont let me get pass the screen where it says
"this iphone is currently linked to an apple id d..... @ yahoo.com sign in with the apple id that was used to set up this iphone"
i dont know the password or the apple id

so either you stole the iphone or you bought it and it wasn't restored properly or you actually forgot the password but their is nothing you can do

The only way would be to change the email password. **Stealing isn't nice.**

You can just put it in DFU, Plug it in and it will make you restore.

i have the same issue and i bought mmine on ebay and the person didnt know the pass either plus apple wont help

If you bought the iphone and it wasn't unlocked than follow these steps
Sign in to their iCloud account at [ Register or Signin to view external links. ] .
Choose the device from their Find My iPhone device list by clicking All Devices and selecting the correct device.
Click "Remove from Account" to remove the device from the account.
After the device has been removed from the previous owners account, turn it off by pressing and holding the Sleep/Wake button located on the top right side of the device. Then restart your device and proceed with device setup as you would normally.
