0x539 wrotei think im just going to do some research and watch some videos as this topic hasn't really helped much with what i asked in the first place but thanks for clearing up the few points i made earlierapplebob1 wrote0x539 wroteah ok, the owned games thing i meant that you pretty much have to buy brand new games not borrow them from a friend. but i can presume thats not true as wellapplebob1 wrote0x539 wroteim going off what friends have said. i never even knew xbox one had those benefitsapplebob1 wrotePilkington wrote Neither is better go off your preferencehmm im quite stuck as i've had xbox live for years but the ps4 has more benefits and is 100 cheaper
Go for your friends are getting, Go to a friends house who has a PS4/xbox one and play on them both and choose from there.
Im getting the xbox one because i have xbox live account that i had for years and i dont want to abandon it
How does it have more benefits? O_o
Xbox is all cloud.
It will have unlimited storage on the cloud.
300,000 dedicated servers.
And of course, PSN < XBL
all i've heard is that you can't play already owned games, have to constantly be online and have kinect plugged in and most of my friends are getting ps4 so all i've been hearing is negatives of the xbox. that is why i wanted people to list postive and negatives
All of those things you said are not true. (besides the already owned games, and the reason for this is because Xbox One has a new 64 bit architecture that the old games cant support without recreating them. PS4 is the same way.)
It was true when it was first announced, but Microsoft removed the whole DRM thing.

Only reason it's $100 cheaper is the Xbox One comes with a Kinect.

I would get which ever one your friends are going to get. When you play with your friends on which ever console, It won't matter because your having fun. If you are lets say "Alone" on the PS4 because you thought it was better, you won't enjoy it as much.

applebob1 wrote i currently have an xbox 360 and i was thinking about getting one of the next generation consoles early next year and i was edging towards the xbox one but a lot of people say the ps4 is better.I think the best thing for you to do is if your not getting it till next year, wait until people compare it and put videos out and if there are any faults, what looks better, etc.
I am unsure as of which one i want to buy so can people help me with the positive and negatives of each
Also this is not intended to start a stupid fanboy console war it's just simply finding the good and bad points of each console.
Appreciate all the help

In the end they will both be great consoles. I really think that you should get what your friends are getting. If your friends don't play and you just want one for you self, not taking online into account, then probably the ps4.

They are practically identical to one another. They are running off of AMD architectures so their hardware is the same, but the PS4 will be somewhat faster than the Xbox One, due to the DDR5 memory inside of it. The obly thing that separates them is their design, operating system, console exclusives, and etc... I'm most likely going for the Xbox One and use it as a multimedia center, as it's designed to be like this. But once again I rephrase what I say, get what you think is best man! Hope this helps.

Honestly, its your choice, but choose the console that most of your real life friends or online friends will get!
PS4
Pro: Cheaper system with better hardware, no paywall to use apps, etc, PS+ gives you games monthly to download which is nice, since you must pay to play online now, PS4 has its own exclusive games which depends on your liking, better user interface from PS3...
Cons: The online experience was not as good to Xbox Live, due to hackers, and laggy game connections, hopefully PS4 will be better on these situations due to paying to play online now...
Xbox One
Pros: The whole online experience is going to awesome, such cloud service, dedicated servers, etc, plus unique and advanced mechanic controller, Kinect 2.0 will be interesting to use when release with its features, and can't wait to find out what it could do in the future.
Cons: Xbox One has a paywall to use apps...

Microsoft has decided to give away free games as well to gold members, it's just not Sony anymore.

That's for Xbox 360. They never said anything about Xbox One.
