Gotta_Have_It wrote Considering asteroids burn up before they reach Earth, I doubt this will happen.

That depends on the size of the Asteroid.
The Asteroid that wiped out the Dinosaurs was around 10km wide.
This one is 1,300 ft which is around 0.4 kilometres wide.
This article is massively sensationalized.

By the times its 2032 our position in the asteroids trajectry will have changed and also even if and asteroid gets in our atmosphere and gets smaller, and it hits earth it will have to hit us absolutely perfectly for it to "destroy" earth...

"Another similarly hazardous asteroid is the 2007 VK184, which is believed to have the likelier chance of hitting the planet.

However, it is much smaller 420-foot wide and is still reported to have a 1 in 2700 chance of striking Earth in 2048".

That part is scarier in my opinion, 1 in 2700 is a pretty high chance. Good thing it is a lot smaller but could still do a lot of damage.
