You spent too much on peripherals. The Taipan is garbage, the invicta is too much, and benQ monitors are stupid. Your psu is crap, your case is crap, and your motherboard makes me cry.

The TA970 is great on a budget.
Pay half as much for a better mouse: [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]
Comparable board for less: [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]
Another board option, cheaper and better: [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]
I would not suggest a 1080p monitor at 27". The pixel density is very, very low and this monitor will have much better image quality for a lower price: [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]
Where are you seeing a 1 TB drive for $40?
7950 prices have gone back up so the 270X is my recommendation at $200: [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]
Much better PSU, better-priced than good 550w units (which are more than adequate themselves): [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]
Better case options around the same price:

Isn't 7ms latency fairly high?

Nope. I would consider 14 ms or greater high. People often hype up the response time too much when in reality, it's rarely something you can even notice.
