Saving Private Ryan, Flags of Our Fathers, Band of Brothers, The Pacific, Miracle at St. Anna, that's all I can think of of the top of my head.

Fly boys. James Franco is in it, and he's a pilot. Story is based on a true story

I may repeat a few that have already been said but some great WWII war movies in my opinion are:

  • Saving Private Ryan
  • Empire of the Sun
  • Days of Glory
  • Downfall
  • The Thin Red Line
  • The Big Red One
  • Come and See

If you're willing to watch a relatively long movie (3 hours) I'd recommend 'Saving Private Ryan' or 'Pearl Harbor'. Also, two other WW2 movies you should look into would be 'The Bridge on the River Kwai' and 'The Return from the River Kwai' - However they're both pretty old (1957 and 1989).
