1.Need a special screw driver to take the case off
2.Lay the shell on a sheet of paper
3.Paint away

Krylon Fusion

make sure you scuff the controller lightly with some sandpaper 600 grit will work

make sure your hands are clean you can use latex gloves if you want keeps the oils off your hands off the controller

also lay down cardboard that way if you have to move them you can just pick up the cardboard and move to them

"Make sure you let it dry for 24 hours before handling"

I always prime my controllers first then light scuff with 600 grit then spray the colors i want on the controller

T8 torx screwdriver
600 grit sand paper
Primer for taking out any inperfections in the controller

Krylon fusion paint any walmart should carry this

After drying for for a few minutes you then can spray a gloss Clear coat over the shell and it will come out shinny as can be

read instructions on can for proper dry times and proper applications

Don't use krylon paint.
Use SEM color coat, it is a adhesive with color added
So it stays on way better and longer.
They also sell plastic prep ,and satin/gloss clear coat .
Steps ;
Take out screws with torx t8

Remove shell from controller motherboard
Remove all buttons and triggers if you want

Wash with mild soap and water
Scuff shell with 3m grey pads

Paint .dust the shell little by little 5-10min in between coats

Let dry for 6hours or dry with heatgun

Clear coat

Let dry again

Done

I have done one controller but it is good
I've painted a couple honda interiors with it and it looks oem.
Lasts longer forsure because it is an adhesive, and their special prep ensures good outcomes for new users.
