So my computer was running extremely slow a few days ago so before a went out I ran an avg before I left to go out. Any way I come back my computer is louder then a jet and my screen is white with pixelated lines. So I reset it and "reboot and select proper boot device" pops up followed by something like "press any key" So I press a key and the same message just keeps coming up.

Is there a way to fix this or what Should I replace in my computer?

My pc is a custom build and around 2 years old with some updated parts, I have never had a problem with my pc before this.

Any help would be appreciated

Is it giving you an option to select the "C" drive or "Windows 7"?

I haven't heard of this scenario before to be honest but i did some research regardless of my own knowledge of this problem.

I found a forum topic on a website which i will post below, and it seems someone also had the same problem as you (Slow computer, blank screen etc).

A user on the forum stated that the problem could be a corrupted boot loader, and to fix the problem would require a windows recovery disk which you might be in possession of considering your computer is of custom build. It would be more suitable for you to view the website yourself.

As a side note, occurrences such as these are best to be researched on google for example as it is most likely you will find a quicker and better solution.

Yeah I seen that yesterday tried it still nothing. Tried most things Ifound on google do you think I'm best of just getting a new hard drive?

You can go into the BIOS and see whether it can detect your drive. If it can but won't boot from it then it can't see the bootloader for some reason.

If thats the case you will need the windows installation disc so you can open a CMD window and repair the bootloader. If you don't care and want a new drive, then sure get a new drive. But you'll lose all your data.
