1. Is there a performance difference between windows 7 and 8? Is 8 faster than windows 7? Or is it just personal preference?

2. Would a $850cdn build (Just the computer, no accessories) max out most games?

Thanks.

Q1: It's mainly personal preference, however people are heavily biased in favour of Windows 7.

Q2: Probably would if you look around places to get the best price. Maybe not ultra high on all games, but relatively good performance overall.

Alright, one more question. If you buy all of your parts at once from like newegg, do they all come together?

Yes Windows 8 is better for gaming that 7, google Windows 8 Gaming Benchmarks and decide for yourself if you'd benefit more.

Yes it would aswell.

Windows 8 is a quicker operating system than 7. Quicker to boot, quicker to use and quicker for gaming. I did the switch and instantly noticed results.

An 850 CDN build will max out games at 1080p at the moment (maybe not Crysis and BF4).

Thanks for the replies. I'm bumping my budget to $1000 for the parts btw.
