Hey guys,

So I'm upgrading my computer because it's time is definitely due. My current build is from 2009 and has an Intel Core Q6600 and my GPU is an SLI config of 2xGTS 8800 512MB. I only have 250 GBP to spend to upgrade and I am only upgrading my motherboard, CPU and RAM . I have been looking and there are bundles on websites for 250 GBP which is perfect [ Register or Signin to view external links. ] . Is this a good bundle or can anyone suggest better components?

I am upgrading those components for the moment due to the money I have but I will be adding parts such as new GPUs, PSU, Hard drive etc. in the future. Also, as I've never been in possession or ever really used a much more powerful machine than this, I want to know what I can expect out of the money I am spending for new components? How will my machine perform?

Thanksss

I'd probably get this rather than a bundle from a site in all honestly.

Thank you! With those components how much of an overall improvement can I expect in regards to performance compared to my current build?

You'd be using a current generation with two more cores so you would definatly see a performance increase.

Something to note, is that the board in that list will not support both your graphics card, so you'd need to work around that. Or i could change it for you.

Oh, would it support just one of the cards or not? I don't plan on keeping the cards, they will be the first thing I get rid of when I have the money to replace them after buying these other components. Could you recommend a card around 150-200 GBP which would be decent for gaming?

I would support one card only. Yes AMD have the new R9 270X out, and Nvidia has the few month old GTX760. If you can stretch the budget, or wait to see if it comes down the GTX770 would be brilliant.

Of course as usual, you'd need a nice power supply for them.

Yeah well I would likely be waiting maybe a couple month until I can afford a GPU upgrade. My current PSU is 1000W but is real old, it's [ Register or Signin to view external links. ] cooler master PSU.
