You cannot future proof anything!!! The second build is better. But really, Future proofing really dont exist. New hardware will come out, and games will always demand more and more so future proofing really dont work.

To be honest with you all those builds aren't future proof as they miss one of the most useful, and easy to use components which is already out. An SSD.
There is no real point in trying to future proof as new tech comes out all the time and they don't stick to a timetable so we know when its coming.
Best things to do is get the performance you want for as cheap as possible, then if you do need to replace parts in future then you wouldn't have wasted too much money.
