Hey guys, I'm building a PC soon and am starting to get together parts to order for it. I have around 600GBP to spend and want it to be able to run games on a reasonable graphics smoothly etc etc, but I'm stuck between getting INTEL or AMD, I've no idea the difference or whats best about what,, anyone any ideas??

Thank you !

If I were you I'd go with AMD, AMD is superior when it comes to budget and performance - price. Get the Amd FX 6300 and overclock it unless not just leave at stock clocks then I'd recommend a AMD R9 270X 2GB GPU, that will pair nicely.

Depends on what you need really. If you just want pure gaming and don't need peripherals, monitor or OS you could probably go the 8320 280X route. If you did need peripherals ect you could go the 6300 270X route, like Piledriver said. Both of those routes will max out BF4 with ease.

Intel is really for the higher budget builds. When budget isn't a factor I'd go Intel. But since it is, then AMD would be the way to go. However... if you just want to render and video edit I'd go Intel. Something like a 3770(k)/4770(k) with a lower end GPU. It would be able to run games but not as well as the AMD builds, depending on the GPU

tl;dr Go AMD if you're on a budget and want the best performance.

Well here are the differences.

AMD: [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]
Intel: [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]

It will all be down to how much gaming you plan on doing, if you want the best FPS in every game, get the AMD build, but it you want the faster CPU get Intel, both will max most if not every game out.

The choice is yours.
