Hello,

I don't know much about ethernet switches. I currently have one ethernet cable coming into my room connected to my router going into my PC. I was wondering if I bought an ethernet switch and 2 smaller ethernet cables could I connect the PC and Xbox into the ethernet switch and both work fine?

Thanks for any responses.

I dont think you could. Might give you slower internet connections on them since there sharing the same Ethernet port on the router.

Adventure, this would work fine I am a telecommunications engineer and install switches all the time for example a company with 10+ staff you only get 4 ports on a normal router therefore you need a switch to distribute the network via Cat 5e or Cat 6 as you know as Ethernet

Hope this helped
