Hi, so the story is my friend is out all day today and comes home and the back door to his his was kicked in and his xbox and his laptop were stolen, my question is, if this xbox comes online is there any possible way to track it, i would like to help him recover this stolen gear.

He has already been in contact with the police and they are investigating it but i doubt the console will ever be found by them.

To anyone saying this is fake i couldn't care about your accusations and i have nothing nor do i wan't to argue with you about my story being legit or not.

Thanks guys.

So, it's not possible if my friend's account comes online to invite them to a party them from there get the IP adress the console logged on from and trace it from there?

You wouldn't be able to track it regardless.
I put a tracking chip in everything I love. I got one in my car, as well.

Nope. Using IP tracers are usually very inaccurate. You can, however, get his IP and use that IP tracer and get his ISP, contact them and get his address or just contact the cops.
EDIT: By inaccurate, I mean when looking at their latitude and longitude and trying to find the address that way.

I'll take a look at that, right now i've told him to check all local pawn shops to see if his Xbox and laptop have been taken in.

I think you can actually. If that theif connects to xbox live Microsoft can see where you last signed in. Microsoft can see your IP and then call the ISP to find where the location and what his information is. Correct me if I'm wrong though.
