Probably more for the console itself, with those receipts from GAME for example you have to go to the one that the person preordered it from and if you're selling a receipt like that you're narrowing the people that will pay for it if they don't live close to you. Plus if you sell the console you'll get your money back for it and more if you sell it on eBay or somewhere like that. Parents get desperate around this time of year.

If you really want to sell it, id say to sell it on the day of release (so the actual console.) maybe go outside the GAME shop as they'd probably run out due to high demand and sell it for a lot more. Or try on ebay on the day of release? People will pay crazy amounts for Day one editions

I can see them going out of stock before christmas so maybe hold onto it for 1 - 2 weeks then it could be worth a little more than retail price.
