I have the OEM version of windows 8 and it's asking me for a key? How do I get that? It's not on the package.

Do you have your operating system installed to a mechanical hard drive? Are you confusing booting with the motherboard's POST?

because of the way the boot menu is setup, im guessing the SSD doesn't have your OS on it?

Boot it without the ssd then connect it once its booted up. It sounds like its trying to boot using the ssd which can be changed by pressing the boot menu key when you turn it on and setting it manually.

I honestly don't even know lol. Without my SSD I get to the bios setup. With the SSD it won't turn on. And no, I haven't installed my OS on anything yet.

I can't think of any reason connecting a SATA drive would cause the computer to fail the POST. Something else must be going wrong or something is happening after the POST.

I think I figured it out. Something wasn't plugged in tightly enough. One more question, My case came with 4 fans. 3 of the cables are like [ Register or Signin to view external links. ] . Any idea on where to plug them in? Or will I have to get rid of them?

You can plug them directly into the power supply or use Molex to 3-pin adapters.

Ok, one last question. I have everything installed and working. I'm halfway through installing Windows 8 and it's asking me for a product key. I have the OEM version and I have no clue where the product key is.

It should be on a little sticker on the OEM packaging.
