Alright, I have looked into this for about two or three weeks now but nowhere has the answer to my problem. I have the correct dashboard and my avatar and kinect update went missing, which also had media support with it. I use my external hard drive to watch my movies,now none of which work. When I try to redo the update it always stops and gives an error code(I have it if it helps any).

Download the avatar update again. That should fix your problem.
