OK well I just got my dads old IPad 2 (iOS version 6.1.3) yesterday and hooked it up to my computer. I was going to jailbreak it so i downloaded the proper version of RedSn0w and entered DFU mode with it hooked up to my computer and now I have not been able to turn it on at all (just a black screen no variation) It has been plugged in and still no signs of it being a working ipad...

Any help or suggestion please!

You cant jailbreak 6.1.3 yet. Especially on iPad 2. All you have to do is hold power and home until the apple logo turns on
