Main use would be to play minecraft, or tekkit. Atmost a cod game. Is this a decent laptop? Also if you think not give me suggestions also nothing higher than $500.

That APU should have no troubles playing Minecraft or Tekkit, but not sure what CoD you mean, if it's Ghosts, then no. Ghosts had a bad port from console.

Its not a bad PC. MC will run with no problem. I doubt you will be able to play ghosts maybe some other CoDs though.
