Are you talking about 2 different characters or 2 different accounts?

On every account you can have 1 guy, even tho it shows 4 slots you can only have 1. Lets say if you had a level 80 character, wanted to start fresh. You created a new character in slot 2, therefore it deletes the 1st character forever and reverts you to level 1 when you try to switch back.

Does't do that for me, I have a level 350+ & a level 50+ & i can switch between them with no problem

That depends, was it the same account that you made another character on or did you make a new character on another account ?

Also, rock star servers might be experiencing some technical difficulty's, if that is the case DO NOT CREATE A NEW CHARACTER WHILE THEY ARE DOWN. It will replace the other one if the server comes back up while you are playing. Did it give you any error messages such as "Rockstar services are not available right now, unable to load character data from slot 1-4"?

Well, the message was for the other guy but...

Anyways, there are alot of people that can not make multiple characters (such as myself), as soon as you create a new character in slot 2 it deletes your character(s) in the slot you have been playing as before.

Sorry but 100% NOT true, why would they have more than 1 character slot if you could only have one character, I have 2 characters of both xbox and ps3 both with diff levels.
