Is your external drive formatted as FAT32? If so, the maximum file size you can transfer at once is limited to something like 4GB. You'll have to format it to NTFS. Move all files that are on the hard drive to a folder on your PC, right-click the drive in explorer, go to format, select NTFS, then quick format it. Afterwards, move all of the files back. You should have no problem transferring the files after that.

EDIT: Just remembered, JTAG does not support NTFS. You can try to open the .ISO file in WinRAR and extract it to an xexmenu subfolder on the hard drive, only do a couple files at a time, in that case. You could also try splitting the file into smaller files with WinRAR, then just copy them over and rejoin them when they are on the target drive.
