When people consume hard drugs, they see the world in a different way (hallucination), correct? What do I mean? Well, for example they see lights, flashing colors, things that "aren't there". Why does this happen though? Because your physical brain is altered... there are new substances present, triggers being activated etc.

So I propose the question, what if all humans were born with a brain that was a completely different shape, with high levels of chemicals that alter your "reality", INSTEAD of the shape and characteristics that we have now?

This leads me to my next question... why is what we experience now THE objective reality? I would argue that it's not, and the world that we think we know is a lie.

I've been thinking about this a lot lately. Let me know what you think, and if you agree or disagree with me.

The brain as it is when it isn't on drugs is in it's natural state.
The state that it always returns to after a change occurs and the effects wear off.
So, that is quite good basis to say that this is the 'real world.'

Then again, I watched a movie called 12 Monkeys recently, and it raised some good points.
Mainly that 'insanity' is subjective.
If everyone was insane, we wouldn't even have a word for it.
'Normal' people would seem insane in that world.

Much in the same way that if everyone was high all the time, and there were a few people who weren't, they would be seen as the ones who were high [or low.]

But why IS this the natural state? And how does the world "know" to maintain this state of equilibrium?

Haha, understandable I suppose. I'm not on anything though. Just doing some audible thinking about the world.
